After a clear hit, which led to the detonation of a demining charge weighing 450 kg and a powerful explosion, not even debris remained of the UR-77 Meteorit. 4 members of the Russian crew also turned into dust.
Information: The UR-77 “Meteorit” mine-clearing rocket launcher was built on the basis of the 2S1 “Gvozdika” self-propelled howitzer in 1978. Because of the characteristic external appearance of the fire shaft, the people nicknamed it “Zmey Gorynych”. The Soviet Meteorit can create passages up to 6 meters wide in anti-tank minefields. The army of Bashar al-Assad used such machinery when destroying the civilian population in Syria in 2017.
