AFU Shoot Down Newest Russian Fighter Jet Near Nova Kakhovka

The plane was trying to attack the AFU fighter jets.

Ukrainian anti-aircraft forces shot down a Russian fighter jet near occupied Nova Kakhovka.

The command of the Air Force of the AFU reported this on Facebook.

"Around 20:00 on July 19, a unit of anti-aircraft missile forces of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a Russian fighter jet, presumably a Su-35, near Nova Kakhovka," the message reads.

It was also reported that the aircraft attempted to attack AFU fighter jets.

"The shooting down of the aircraft is visually confirmed, the pilot has ejected," the Air Forces command added.

In addition, the anti-aircraft missile forces shot down five operational-level unmanned aerial vehicles during the day.
