New Scandal In Russian Army: Paratroopers Rebelled
- 4.08.2022, 11:23
They ripped the Russian "elite fighting force" off and sent them to die in Ukraine.
The Russian 31st Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Airborne Forces suffered heavy losses after the start of a full-scale invasion of our country. The "famous" Ulyanovsk paratroopers turned out to be not as immortal as they believed in the Russian Federation. Moreover, now the "elite fighting force" began to break contracts in a panic and refuse to fight in Ukraine.
The Obozrevatel news publisher provides information about the reaasons for the "rebellion".
Fellows betray, and the leadership threatens with prison
Recently, the Buryats refused to fight in Ukraine. Now a new scandal has broken out in Russia: this time with the 31st Airborne Assault Brigade of the Airborne Forces (military unit 73612, stationed in Ulyanovsk). The "elite fighting force" after heavy losses in the Donbas began to massively file reports on dismissals.
“The command of the escapists persuades, intimidates, calls them traitors to the Motherland, tells them: if they write a report, this, of course, will be perceived as a criminal case. But the military believes that they are ordinary employees. They believe that there is no war but a "special operation”. Why can't they quit? Wives are looking for ways to get their husbands out,” a source of the Russian Telegram channel “We can explain” shared an opinion.
According to the channel's sources, recent losses of the Ulyanovsk paratroopers made about 150 people already, more than 400 were wounded. Most of them "suffered" during fights in the Luhansk region.
Moreover, despite the fact that the Russian Ministry of Defence promised contractors for "work" in Ukraine from 220 thousand rubles a month, in reality everything turned out to be different. The maximum payments to private and non-commissioned officers are 100-150 thousand rubles. It also caused a wave of indignation among the occupiers, who were hoping to improve their material situation.
They are trying to cover up the scandal at all levels, however, but they can not cope.
According to the Obozrevatel's military intelligence source, Russian paratroopers already understand what will happen to them in Ukraine. “Those who still managed to get out alive are doing everything possible not to get into our country again. Some commit "self-harm", deliberately injure themselves in order to go home. Others are trying to break the contract in any way, because life is more valuable,” said our interlocutor.
However, Russian paratroopers are already afraid not only of Ukrainian soldiers, but also of their commanders. Earlier, the Ukrainian Defence Intelligence posted an audio intercept of an interesting conversation between an occupier and his girlfriend.
The soldier complained about a "leakage of information", and the girl voiced a curious fact: Colonel Matkovsky from the 31st Brigade handed over the location of his own fighters to foreign intelligence. According to her information, which was subsequently confirmed to the girl by a familiar FSB officer, “76 people were brought from Ukraine (apparently dead), and 17 million rubles were found in the colonel’s accounts.
Huge losses of the Russian Airborne Forces in Ukraine
On orders from above, the 31st Airborne Assault Brigade quite carefully concealed its losses: well, well, the famous Ulyanovsk paratroopers died ingloriously. However, after some time, the data began to leak into the network little by little.
For example, on August 3, it became known about the death of the commander of the special forces group of the 31st Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, Aleksandr Tikhonov. OSINT-investigator Irakli Komakhidze drew attention to a photo from the Ulyanovsk region, which showed a banner with the “cargo 200” occupier.
According to this photo, it succeeded in identifying the paratrooper. He appeared to be eliminated in Ukraine back on April 30, 2022.
The commander of the department of the special forces group of the 31st Special Operations Brigade, Aleksander Tikhonov, was liquidated in Ukraine.
But there is a different situation with the nephew of the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation who died in Ukraine. All Russian media trumpeted this «loss», especially since Captain Adam Khamkhoev was posthumously awarded the highest award of the occupying country, the Hero of Russia.
Meanwhile, the losses of the “splendid” brigade are constantly growing, and rows of fresh graves appear in the Ulyanovsk cemetery.
Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov was dismissed from the post of commander of the Russian Airborne Forces on July 16. It is quite unusual to change a commander during the war. It actually became a kind of recognition of the failure of Russian elite units to conduct the "special operation" in Ukraine.
The British Intelligence also drew attention to the heavy losses of the Russian airborne forces, which amounted to about 20% of all the dead invaders. According to their estimates, this is due to the fact that they were involved in operations that are not suitable for their specialisation. Russians also have a problem with providing soldiers with modern medical aid.
Whatever you say, if Russians supporting the occupiers in social networks raised funds even for turnstiles and hemostatic agents for the "elite fighting force".
Where are the Ulyanovsk paratroopers "spotted"?
The 31st Airborne Brigade belongs to the Airborne Forces. This is a completely independent branch of the military with its own special forces, UAVs, electronic warfare, artillery and tank support.
The Airborne Assault Battalion of this brigade has even been included in the Book of Records of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation "for the first mass non-parachute landing in recent history". This happened during the Center-2019 strategic command and staff exercises: then, in 14 minutes, more than 200 military personnel were landed from Mi-8 helicopters.
It is a mistake to suppose that the Ulyanovsk paratroopers appeared in Ukraine only after the start of a full-scale invasion in 2022. Even at the very beginning of Russia's aggression, they were "spotted" during the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
It was the Russian paratroopers of the 31st Airborne Brigade in the uniform of the Ukrainian Berkut that captured the building of the Crimean Parliament on February 26, 2014.
It is also known that the invaders fought in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, in particular, near Ilovaisk.
And already in 2022, the military personnel of the 31st brigade suffered heavy losses in the Donetsk, Luhansk and Kyiv regions.
So, their landing, among other units, landed at the Antonov airfield in Hostomel and was subsequently destroyed by Ukrainian defenders. Every Russian will be held responsible for war crimes in Ukraine.
