Bridgehead 'Stalls': Russian Army Stalemates Near Soledar

The grouping of up to 25,000 Russians has been reduced by more than a third.
The Russian army found itself in a stalemate after the prolonged storming of Bakhmut and Soledar, as it suffered heavy losses. This resulted in the loss of more than a third of the Russian Armed Forces concentrated there.
Alexander Kovalenko, the coordinator of the IS group and a military expert, writes about this.
He notes on his Facebook page that Russians had up to 32 BTGr concentrated near Bakhmut back in January, half of which were directly involved in the fighting, while the rest provided compensation for losses.
"But Prigozhin, in an attempt to demonstrate his usefulness, overplayed everything. As one can guess, he outplayed it badly, which is not surprising given his background. He took a third of the resource from near Bakhmut to Soledar and successfully lost it there. The 7th DSD and others had to plug the holes. Kirzachi began to hastily fill in the gaps in the rear," the expert stressed.
As a result of Prigozhin's decisions, the grouping of up to 25,000 Russians was reduced by more than a third, given the dead and wounded.
In addition to the Soledar "meat grinder," the loss of the resource left near Bakhmut continued, which also affected the Russian army's numbers here.
"The bridgehead has stalled. The command is not making any quick moves and is biding its time. The command needs to urgently compensate the losses. It will clearly no longer be convicts. But it takes time and resources. Everything rests precisely on them. And while the command faces stalemate, Prigozhin is handing out badges "The capture near Soledar", Kovalenko stressed.
