Celebration Of Slutsk Uprising Anniversary In Warsaw
- 16.11.2023, 13:46
Belarusians will march through the centre of the Polish capital on November 26.
On November 27, 1920, the Slutsk brigade of the Belarusian Democratic Republic entered into battle with the Red Army. They resisted the enemy for more than a month without any support.
The march dedicated to the Day of the Slutsk Uprising will take place on Sunday, November 26 at 13:00 in Warsaw. At the Jerusalem Avenue (Aleje Jerozolimskie) and New World Street (Ulica Nowy Świat) junction (ul. Nowy Świat 15) a column will begin to form for the March on the Day of Belarusian Heroes. The start is scheduled for 13:30.
“Slutsk peasants began an armed struggle against the Bolshevik occupation forces for the Belarusian Democratic Republic 103 years ago. The Belarusian nation has many heroes. Let's honour together those Belarusian heroes who died for independent Belarus: the Slutsk rebels, Belarusians who died from communist and Nazi repressions, Belarusians killed by Lukashenka's gang, Belarusians who died in the fight for Ukraine.
We will also remember our new heroes - the Belarusian political prisoners who were illegally thrown behind bars,” calls on the organizing committee of the celebration.
