Military Expert On BAM Bombing: Xi Jinping Received Another Proof That Russia Is Weak

The Kremlin will lose a lot of money.
The media, citing the Security Service of Ukraine, report that an explosion occurred on the Baikal-Amur Mainline in Buryatia. The strategic railway between the Russian Federation and China was damaged.
The website Charter97.org asked the Ukrainian military-political observer of the Information Resistance group, Oleksandr Kovalenko, to comment on the major sabotage on the territory of the Russian Federation.
— I don’t know if the SSU carried out this operation or if something just exploded there. When the media report on certain events with reference to their sources in the Ukrainian special services, I am somewhat biased.
I trust official sources and statements more, especially since Ukrainian structures are quite open. If some successful operation is carried out, and we really stand behind it, then it is reported. As we saw, for example, with the Kerch Bridge.
We are waiting for official confirmation, but in general I will note that this logistics is very important for the Russian Federation. After all, this is one of the main railway lines throughout Russia.
Its damage and non-functionality causes serious damage not only to logistics throughout Russia. This is also quite a serious blow to the Russian economy.
It would seem that in a week at most this will all be restored, but we are talking about colossal losses for the economy: idle cargo, increased load on other, more expensive modes of transport.
If this really was done by one of the Ukrainian special services, then the organization of such an operation deep in the Russian rear should have had a well-weighed scenario, taking into account all the pros, cons, risks, and so on. Everything had to be prepared very professionally.
— How might China react to this operation?
— China’s opinion regarding what is happening on the territory of the Russian Federation, which has invaded Ukraine, should worry Kyiv the least of all.
It is China that should be concerned so that a Taiwanese embassy does not open in Kyiv. Or so that Kyiv does not support the international community in matters of legal assessment of the infringement of the rights and freedoms of the Uyghurs.
— Will this operation become a kind of humiliation for Putin in front of Xi Jinping?
— I will say that this is not so much humiliation as additional proof to Xi Jinping that Russia is weak. China has every chance of achieving its plans for the next 50 years. One should not expect any serious resistance from Russia when this plan begins to be outlined and implemented to the western coast of Lake Baikal.
