Lukashenka, having received the information, fell into a state of extreme aggression and fury.

Belarusian Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makei, who died suddenly on November 26, 2022, could have committed suicide.

As the website Charter97.org reported, the journalists of the Belarusian publication Nasha Niva received such information from four unrelated medicine and public administration sources.

The journalists of the Israeli publication 9tv.co.il emphasized that the last years of the minister's life were accompanied by both political and personal dramas. According to them, the late Minister of Foreign Affairs was very upset by Lukashenka's cold attitude towards him. Minister Makei felt "useless and sometimes just out of place". According to sources, he knew that Lukashenka's administration had begun looking for candidates to replace him.

“Recently, he was denied personal attention, it was very sensitive for him,” Makei’s colleague said.

“It didn’t mean that tomorrow he would be removed. But he understood that the former high position was coming to an end and after his heights, he did not see himself anywhere else,” said another insider.

As the newspaper notes that Makei returned home to the Drazdy settlement alone on the day of his death. His wife, Vera Paliakova, stayed in another apartment with her youngest son.

“The first to find the dead minister was Paliakova's eldest son, who went to Drazdy after unsuccessful attempts by his relatives to contact him by phone. Attempts to reanimate the minister did not lead to anything,” the message reads.

Later, insiders of the Belarusian Intelligence Telegram channel reported that Makei had committed suicide after talking with Lukashenka.

“Lukashenka, having received the information, fell into a state of extreme aggression and fury, perceived Makei’s suicide as an act of disobedience and betrayal,” the authors of the Telegram channel note.
