Kalinouski Regiment Fighter: Belarus Can Only Be Liberated Militarily

Belarusians have a real chance to defeat Lukashenka's regime.
Today it has become known that representatives of the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment held an online conversation with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. The conversation took place in the framework of the conversation with the Ukrainian MPs of the "For Democratic Belarus" interfaction. Belarusian fighter Pavel "Dziadz'ka" Shurmei, who was present at the video meeting, told the Charter97.org website about the details of the conversation.
According to the volunteer, the Regiment tried to convey to Tsikhanouskaya's office their vision of the way to change the power in Belarus.
"We tried right away to convey the Kalinouski Regiment's vision of the current situation. We are convinced that there is no other way to change the situation in Belarus but by the military way. The way to the homeland is via the victory of Ukraine over Russia. After Russia is defeated, the aid to Lukashenka's regime will weaken. The Belarusians will have a real opportunity to achieve victory," says the fighter.
Pavel Shurmei reminded of the words of former Interior Minister of Belarus Yury Karayeu, who admitted in 2020 that the regime could be defeated only by fighting.
"The year 2020 showed that it is impossible to change the situation in the country peacefully. I did not bring it up during the conference with Tsikhanouskaya, but I would like to remind the words of the former minister of internal affairs of Belarus, Yury Karayeu. A week or two after the elections he remembered Lenin, who said that no one would give power to the people without a fight," reminded Shurmei.
The fighter also noted that only by active and real actions we can bring the victory of the Belarusians over Lukashenka's regime.
"The Kalinouski Regiment is open to all who want to bring the victory of the Belarusians and come back home through deeds and actions.
They (Tsikhanouskaya's office - note by Charter97.org) urged us to come to Warsaw and Vilnius to talk. But it is easier for us to come to Bakhmut than to Vilnius or Warsaw. In my opinion, who, if not the Kalinouski Regiment warriors, have proved by deeds that it is necessary to unite around them, if you really want to change the situation in Belarus.
And the opportunities that the Cabinet has should be used 100 per cent: both in recruiting to the Regiment and in providing logistical support. Given their capabilities, we could expect more from them".
Pavel Shurmei urged the "cabinet men" to take real actions, not declarations.
"Valeryj Sakhashchyk (Tsikhanouskaya's representative for defense and national security - note by Сharter97.org) was declaring and proclaiming many things, but what was the result? One day he was gathering a Belarusian unit with hundreds of fighters, then another one... And where are these units with hundreds of fighters? It's simple: if you want to do something, you do it. We, for example, are short of officers with junior, middle and senior level experience. If Sakhashchyk, as he says, has such experience, please come! It's been a year and a half, why isn't he with us?" wondered the Belarusian volunteer.
