Putin is “very nervous” now.
The mouthpiece of Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin has not appeared in public for more than two weeks. Before his disappearance, Dmitry Peskov became famous for making an odious statement about the upcoming elections in Russia, which will be held in 2024.
In an interview, the Kremlin speaker said that the presidential elections in the Russian Federation “are not exactly a democracy, but an expensive bureaucracy”. Russian political strategist Abbas Gallyamov told Channel 24 that this phrase is very risky, and one can fall into disgrace for it.
Peskov held his last briefing on August 4, and two days later, an article appeared in The New York Times, where he expressed “confidence” that Putin would be re-elected as president.
Rumours quickly began to circulate on the internet about the disappearance of the speaker of the Russian president.
Later, journalist Ksenia Sobchak reported that Peskov was on vacation and would return to work on August 23.
As the Russian political strategist noted, Putin is now very nervous. Peskov's “well-wishers” could “correctly” convey these words to the usurper, and therefore he could get furious.
“However, it is possible that he really has a vacation, because August is the holiday season. All that we can do, as in the case with Yevgeny Prigozhin, is to wait and observe,” said Gallyamov.
According to him, Peskov is not a figure whose disappearance will radically change something. Another thing is Prigozhin, who owns the Wagner PMC, the most combat-ready military unit in Russia. In times of war, this is a serious matter.
Peskov's provocative statement
Peskov recently announced Putin's victory in the 2024 presidential election. The Kremlin speaker, during a conversation with Western media, said that Putin would again be elected president of a terrorist state. He will get 90% of the votes.
Political scientist Andrei Vigirinsky suggested that with his statement, Peskov probably “burned” a fresh “temnik”. In addition, the elections in Russia, apparently, will be held in one round in the absence of candidates for the second.
In this interview, he also stated Russia's desire to control the Ukrainian regions, which were previously written into the Russian constitution.
Moreover, according to him, the terrorist country sees no grounds for a peace agreement with Ukraine, and threatened to “continue the operation for the foreseeable future.”
