Belarusian Businessman Arrested At The Border When Coming Back From Poland

Security services arrested 46-year-old businessman Aleh Padlipski at the border crossing, the Viasna Human Rights Center reports.
Aleh Padlipski was coming back to Belarus from Poland. As human rights activists write, he was detained on September 18 and has not been in contact since then. According to Viasna, the entrepreneur was previously arrested in 2020 in Navahrudak during protests. In February 2022, the court sentenced Aleh Padlipski to 15 days in a detention facility for participating in an anti-war rally.
On September 14, while coming back from Poland to Belarus, journalist Siarhei Hardievich, who had recently been released after a year and a half in prison, was detained on charges of libel (Article 188 of the Criminal Code), insulting Lukashenka (Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code) and insulting a government official (Article 369 of the Criminal Code).
