Cars On Fire And Hotel Destroyed: Russia Hits Kharkiv Centre With Missiles

A Turkish journalist is among the injured.
On the evening of Wednesday 10 January, Russian invaders again hit Kharkiv with S-300 missiles from the Belgorod region. There were explosions in the city and it is known that a civilian object was hit. As a result of the attack, 11 people fell victims, including a journalist from Turkey.
The Kyiv district of the regional centre was under enemy fire, cars caught fire there.
This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleh Sinegubov. Later he specified that the enemy rockets fell near the hotel in the centre of Kharkiv.
"High probability of casualties among the people who were inside. Cars are burning in the car park next to the building, the building is destroyed. All the relevant services have already left," wrote the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov.
Sinegubov reported that six people were injured in the attack, and that medics were helping them. Soon the number of victims rose to 10 people, 9 of whom were hospitalised. There are 4 men aged between 31 and 38 and 7 women aged between 23 and 71.
"A 35-year-old man is in serious condition, 8 patients are in medium condition, 2 were treated on the spot .... Journalists from the Turkish edition who were staying at the hotel are among the injured," said the head of the OVA.
The National Police of Ukraine stated that all the injured were civilians.
"No military mercenaries, military personnel have been here.
This is a civilian object, a civilian infrastructure. We have always accommodated our friends here, guests who have been to Kharkiv, foreign delegations," said Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
Oleksandr Filchakov, the prosecutor of the Kharkiv region, said that the occupiers had used S-300 missiles from the territory of the Belgorod region. One of them hit the building of the hotel complex, the other a few metres from its entrance. There were more than 30 people in the hotel, 7 of them employees and 23 guests.
The network showed footage of the liquidation of the aftermath of the Russian attack on Kharkiv.
The state emergencies service said that after arriving at the scene of the attack, they evacuated 8 people from the building.
"The area of the fire was about 20 square metres. Nine units of fire and rescue equipment and 70 employees of the state emergencies service were working at the scene," it said.
