The Ukrainian military shot down a Russian aircraft over the Sea of Azov on 14 January, downing an IL-22.
The Russian public and military experts also indirectly confirmed the IL-22 incident, reporting that the plane had landed but that there were casualties on board.
There has been speculation about 'friendly fire' from Russian air defences covering the Crimean bridge.
The death of the A-50 was indirectly confirmed by the Russian Telegram bomber service.
