Another innovation concerns those who are abroad.

The regulations on the procedure for military and special training camps, as well as on the procedure for registering permanent residence outside the country, have been changed in Belarus.

The corresponding government decree was published on the National Legal Internet Portal on October 15. The document changes two figures and two explanations.

Now, persons liable for military duty who are called up for military and special training camps must be notified no later than seven days before their commencement. Previously, this period was ten days.

‘The military conscripts selected for training camps shall be served with summonses specifying the terms of appearance at the military commissariat, the Department of the State Security Committee for the region no later than seven days prior to their commencement’, - this is how the part of clause 17 of the amended regulation is supposed to look now.

Also, the paragraph on whose expense the ‘transportation of persons liable for military duty, called up for military and special training camps’ is paid for has been changed - explanations about the Ministry of Defence and the KGB have been removed from the document.

The document on the procedure for registration of permanent residence outside Belarus has changed the age, from which ‘the presence or absence of duties is to be checked’. Previously, the consent of the military commission was required for guys who ‘turn 16 years old in the calendar year of the proposed date of the decision of the foreign office on the registration of permanent residence outside the Republic of Belarus,’ but now this age has been raised to 17 years.
