How Belarusian drivers reacted to the authorities' decision to pick their pockets.

In Belarus, they intend to increase transport tax rates — for both individuals and legal entities. This is provided for in the draft amendments to the Tax Code.

The amount of transport tax depends on the permitted maximum weight, capacity, or is specified for one unit of the vehicle. For example, for a car with a permitted maximum weight of up to 1.5 tons, you now have to pay 66 rubles per year, but they want to raise it to 70 rubles. This makes an increase of 6.1%.

If there is no information about the permitted maximum weight, the tax is calculated at the minimum rate for the corresponding type of vehicle.
