A military observer spoke about the situation at the front.
The Russian Federation is currently suffering the greatest losses in the Kurakhove direction, because the most intense fighting is taking place there. Military observer Denys Popovich spoke about this today, November 13, on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.
“As I understand it, where there is the greatest number of clashes, that is, the Kurakhove section of the front. There, apparently, in relation to the total number of losses, the Russian Federation should suffer the greatest losses in manpower,” he said.
The military observer commented on the blowing up of the Kurakhove Reservoir Dam in the Donetsk region by Russian occupiers. He stated that the Russians expected that this would complicate the situation for the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
"Obviously, there was an expectation that the Vovcha River, which flows to the west of this dam, would overflow and flood the roads. In particular, the main road that goes from Zaporizhzhia towards Kurakhove. Thus, it will complicate the logistics of our troops, who are holding the defence in this direction. A rise in the water level in this river was recorded. However, it is difficult to judge to what extent this water is now interfering with movement, to what extent the Russians' project and their expectations were justified," Popovich said.
He says that the enemy is trying to create conditions for encircling the city of Kurakhove, attacking from the north, south and east.
"They are trying to encircle it. If this succeeds, then the enemy will force us to retreat from there. And in this way, he will fulfill his tasks. The situation is quite dangerous just to the south of Kurakhove. That is, there is a fairly wide flank of possible encirclement. And the enemy is advancing towards the Kurakhove-Zaporizhzhia highway. That is, if they manage to cut this route to the west of Kurakhove, in the area of the settlement of Kostiantynopil, then this will be a very dangerous situation, which could lead to us withdrawing from there,” the military observer believes.
