U.S. State Department: Americans Facing Greater Danger In Belarus Than In Ukraine

Travelling to Belarus remains at the maximum, fourth level of danger.

American citizens are in greater danger in Belarus than in Ukraine.

This is the opinion of the U.S. State Department. Today, the State Department downgraded the risk for travelling to nine western regions of Ukraine to the third level. And this is despite the fact that Ukraine is shelled by Russian missiles every night and the west of the country is also under fire, reports ‘Euroradio’.

Travelling to Belarus remains at the maximum, fourth level of danger. The State Department cites political reasons - ‘because of the arbitrary application of laws and the risk of detention.’

As previously reported, Marco Rubio, one of the co-authors of the political resolutions on Belarus, is being considered for the post of head of the State Department in the new administration of Donald Trump.
