17 Tu-95MS strategic bombers took to the skies.
On the morning of November 17, the aggressor country Russia launched massive missiles at Ukraine from strategic bombers and ships in the Black Sea. In Kyiv, the roof of a residential building caught fire due to falling debris, OBOZ.UA reports.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force and local military administrations. It should be noted that in the morning, air defense in a number of regions also worked to destroy Russian strike drones of the type.
According to monitoring channels, Tu-95MS bombers took off from the Olenya airfield in the Murmansk region of the Russian Federation at night. In total, up to 17 aircraft were moving to the launch lines. They were flying southeast in the direction of the Caspian region of the Russian Federation.
Later it became known that there were two air groups of such bombers in the air:
— 10 from the Olenya airfield were moving towards launch sites near Engels;
— 7 from the Engels airfield were moving towards the Tsimlyansk reservoir/the Caspian Sea.
At about 06:00, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that the aggressor launched missiles from strategic bombers.
“Follow our messages and do not ignore air raid sirens,” the military urged.
They also reported possible launches of Kalibr missiles by the Russians from the Black Sea. There were four missile carrier ships there with a total salvo of up to 24 missiles. Around 07:00, explosions thundered in Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyj Rih, and Zaporizhzhia.
