And blocking roads.
The Georgian opposition party Coalition for Change called on everyone to join a 24-hour protest outside Tbilisi State University. Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the coalition, informed about the new plan of the opposition. The Unity-National Movement party also joined the demonstration.
Gvaramia stressed that it's time to stop the protest ‘festivities’ and it's necessary to move to concrete actions - ‘block everything’ and start an indefinite protest rally - on Rustaveli Avenue, and then ‘slowly and purposefully, planned and peacefully’ block all motorways - until the appointment of re-elections in Georgia, SOVA reports.
The first location is Tbilisi State University (TSU) named after Iv. Djavakhishvili, Nika Gvaramia reported.
It is reported that Chavchavadze Avenue, Melikishvili Street and Varaziskhevi Street will be blocked for 24 hours: tents are being set up at the location, Gvaramia stated earlier.
‘Shout-noise - it's all over! We are returning the homeland! We are blocking everything! We have no more time! We, those people who received the most votes from the Georgian population (in the October 26 elections - ed.), who said, ‘We are going to Europe!’, take responsibility. And yes! We are going to Europe! I greet those gathered on Rustaveli Avenue, we apologise very much for the disturbance, but we are standing here and we are here to stay! This rally will be standing here for 24 hours! Those who agree not to be afraid of arrests, not to be afraid of the cold, not to be afraid of the Russian regime - because this homeland is ours! The future is ours! And we are going to Europe!’ he emphasised.
Gvaramia said that oppositionists and their supporters will occupy all motorways so that Georgia goes to Europe.
