Meanwhile, the Kremlin is silent.
Commenting on the news from The New York Times about Kyiv receiving permission to strike Russia with ATACMS missiles, Russian propagandists promised “any response” to the United States and even threatened a nuclear war. At the same time, Moscow did not make a clear official statement. And on Monday morning, signs appeared that Moscow could ignore the crossing of this “red line”, as has happened many times before, writes “Agency”.
The news from The New York Times came during the broadcast of “Vesti Nedeli” on “Russia 1”. The host of one of the main propaganda programs on Russian TV gave an assessment of Moscow’s possible reaction.
“How will Russia respond? The response could be anything. Anything! It’s not for nothing that our nuclear doctrine has been adjusted. As President Putin has repeatedly emphasized: missile strikes deep into Russian territory will change the nature of the conflict, its very essence, and will become a radical escalation. After all, the United States, England, and France are directly entering a war with Russia with all the ensuing consequences for their own territories and those who inhabit these territories. Well, and the residents of Ukraine who live next to the airfields where the F-16s are based, it would be better to move away from them,” said Dmitry Kiselev.
A few hours later, on the air of “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov,” Russian State Duma deputy Andrei Gurulev threatened the disappearance of America.
“There will essentially be nothing left of America, which is trying to drag us into escalation. There will be no Biden, no Trump. America is receiving 95 percent total damage,” said Gurulev. “Today, we are quite ready to destroy the entire nuclear potential of England and France with a single strike. This will be one of the options for deterring the United States from striking Russia,” the deputy specified.
Senator Andrey Klishas wrote in a Telegram channel that such a decision “could end with the remnants of Ukraine completely losing their statehood.” Meanwhile, Senator Vladimir Dzhabarov told TASS that the US decision “brings the start of the third world war closer.” However, Russia has not made a clear official response even 12 hours after the publication of the American newspaper. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, only stated that “the president has spoken out on this matter”.
