Media: Montenegro To Introduce Visas For Belarusians
- 18.11.2024, 15:13
What is the reason for this?
Montenegro may soon introduce visas for citizens of Russia and Belarus, writes the local publication DAN, citing numerous sources in the country's government. Citizens of China, India and a number of other countries may also soon need a visa to visit Montenegro.
Such a step is being considered in order to begin reforms in the field of visa policy, including harmonization with the rules in force in the Schengen area.
“If Montenegro introduces a visa regime for Russia and Belarus, this may affect the current influx of Russian tourists and residents, as well as their significant contribution to the economy. However, adaptation to the Schengen policy is necessary to realize Montenegro's aspirations for European integration,” the report says.
In the meantime, Belarusians can stay in Montenegro without a visa for up to 30 days. But visiting this country is difficult due to the cancellation of direct flights.
