USA Does Not See Need To Change Its Nuclear Potential

Washington has commented on Putin's change of the nuclear doctrine of the Russian Federation.

The United States sees no reason to adjust its nuclear potential against the backdrop of Russia's nuclear doctrine change. This was stated by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller at a briefing for journalists on Tuesday, November 19.

At the same time, he noted that Washington as a whole is ‘incredibly’ concerned about new threats from Russia and called on the Kremlin to change its rhetoric.

Earlier in the day, the Bloomberg agency, citing a representative of the US National Security Council, wrote that the country sees no need to change its own nuclear doctrine following Russia. According to the Bloomberg interlocutor, Moscow's updating of the doctrine is another example of Russia's ‘irresponsible rhetoric’ that the United States has observed ‘over the past two years.’
