The occupiers were driven out of the territory to the southeast of the settlement.
The Ukrainian military achieved success in the Hlyboke area, inflicting losses on Russian units and repelling their attacks.
This is stated in the morning report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) for November 20.
According to the information of the Institute, Ukrainian forces recently advanced north of Kharkiv City on November 19. Geolocated footage published on November 19 indicates that Ukrainian forces advanced into a forested area southeast of Hlyboke (north Kharkiv City).
Despite attempts by Russian troops to hold their positions, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled their attacks. In particular, offensive actions were carried out by Russian units, including the Chechen battalion “Zapad-Akhmat”, the 128th reserve brigade and the 6th army of the Russian Federation. Battles took place near Liptsi, Hlyboke, and Vovchansk.
Ukrainian battalion commander operating in the Kharkiv direction reported that Russian forces are suffering disproportionate losses to make tactical gains and stated that in one attack Russian forces suffered 139 casualties while trying to seize 200 meters of terrain. He noted that Russian forces’ abilities to maintain a high tempo of assaults while sustaining significant manpower losses will depend on the effectiveness of Ukrainian countermeasures.
The Ukrainian army has once again demonstrated its strength and professionalism. The soldiers continue to liberate territories, inflicting serious losses on the enemy.
