Details.

Parliament has passed a bill to strip traitors to Ukraine of their state honours. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed it.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the draft of the bill.

Yesterday, November 20, the Ukrainian President signed the law on deprivation of state awards of traitors of Ukraine.

It should be noted that only yesterday the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on depriving state awards for popularisation or propaganda of the aggressor state or other illegal actions against Ukraine.

The law provides for the possibility of depriving of state awards those persons who have been found guilty:

of committing grave or especially grave offences,

of offences threatening the national security of Ukraine, international law and order or peace.

Such additional punishment may be imposed by a court. When passing judgement, the court is obliged to decide whether there are grounds for depriving the accused of state awards of Ukraine.
