‘Grey Cars’ Not To Work In Belarus?

This is what one of the manufacturers promises.
Cars of the Chinese brand of AVATR, imported into Belarus under ‘grey’ schemes, may be blocked from November 30. The manufacturer has decided to take such a radical step to stop unofficial deliveries of its cars to other countries. According to telegraf.news, this was reported in the Autavelt company, which is the official distributor of AVATR in Belarus.
As Autavelt explains, in fact, all AVATR cars, imported into the country not through official dealers, will stop working after the disconnection of all network functions. We are talking mainly about those cars, which were produced for the Chinese market, but somehow bypassed the export ban and ‘leaked’ from the Celestial Empire.
The ban on export of AVATRs designed for the Chinese market has been in effect for not the first month - back in September 2024, dealers received a corresponding clarification. Both dealers and car owners were threatened with ‘sanctions’ for violating the ban. The former could lose the status of an official dealer for the sale of such cars, while the latter could be left without service and a normally functioning car.
As explained in the office of the Belarusian dealer, in case of blocking neither the car owners, nor the distributor, who violated the rules, will not be able to unblock the car. It's unlikely that ‘garage craftsmen’ will be able to do it either, the company expressed their concerns.
‘AVATR uses advanced data encryption systems that exclude unauthorized access to the car's functions. Based on this, we can conclude that saving on buying a car from an unofficial supplier can turn out to be a significant cost, exceeding the anticipated savings by dozens of times,’ Autavelt said.
The manufacturer explained its restrictions by its desire to ‘provide high quality products and after-sales service’ to customers around the world and strive to ‘provide the best quality products and after-sales service’ to its customers around the world and a desire to ’maintain the AVATR brand image.’
The Autavelt company ‘Avtovelt’ explained that their cars will not be affected by the ban. The cars themselves will only start arriving in the republic in the coming months.
‘We have asked AVATR Technology to confirm the information. Indeed, the notice was sent to dealers in China and came into effect on October 1. Responsibility for the blocked vehicles lies with the companies that violated the ban and sold for export cars intended for operation in China,’ said the office of the Belarusian dealer.
