Forbes: Ukrainian Forces Drove Enemy Away From Kupiansk With Tank 'Fist'

The enemy in the city was destroyed.

The fighting in the area of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region is a bright spot for the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the backdrop of the battles for the Donbas and in the Kursk region.

At the moment, 20,000 Ukrainian fighters are fighting with Putin-Kim's 50,000-strong army in Kurshchyna. In the Donbas, the ratio of forces is 1 to 5 in favor of the Kremlin, Forbes informs.

But in the Kupiansk area, it is the Ukrainian forces that can defeat the Russian Armed Forces. The Khortytsia strategic group, under the control of about 10 brigades, announced the rejection of enemy troops away from Kupiansk.

Two weeks ago, the occupiers from the 25th Brigade managed to break into Kupiansk itself. However, offensive actions require more people and equipment than defence, which is why the enemy, of course, did not gain a foothold in the city itself and was destroyed.

Later, at the beginning of the current week, the enemy landed on boats across the Oskol River in an attempt to bypass the AFU, but this maneuver was also unsuccessful.

Analysts from Militaryland stressed that great merit in the defence of Kupiansk rests on the shoulders of the experienced combat 14th Mechanized Brigade.

The brigade has both old models of T-72B3 tanks and new T-84 Oplot tanks.

At the beginning of this week, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine posted a video clip of the battle in the area of Kupiansk. On it, Ukrainian forces on a tank shoot the entrenched enemies at point-blank range.

The liberation of Kupiansk is rare good news for Kyiv's outnumbered and outgunned army, as winter arrives and the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump approaches.

If Putin's army fails to recapture Kupiansk, they will try to fortify beyond the Oskol River.

“Russian forces have stepped up attacks using artillery, [rocket launchers] and glide bombs,” the Center for Defence Strategies said.

The goal of the Russians is to force civilians to evacuate from settlements on the eastern bank of the Oskol River.
