A Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has also been appointed.
On November 29, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He spoke about this on Telegram.
During the meeting, the president heard a report from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky regarding the situation at the front and in the areas of the Kursk operation. They also talked about eliminating the consequences of Russian shelling and protecting energy facilities.
In addition, Zelensky and Syrsky made several personnel decisions for the army. Mykhailo Drapaty was appointed the new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; he will replace Oleksandr Pavlyuk in this post.
Oleh Apostol became Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Major General Mykhailo Drapaty successfully organized the defense in the Kharkiv direction and disrupted the offensive operation of the Russian forces. Colonel Oleh Apostol is an experienced commander of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade. Both have proven their effectiveness in battle,” Zelensky noted.
He explained that these decisions should increase the combat capability of the army, ensure the quality of training of military personnel and introduce innovative approaches to managing people in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The Ukrainian army needs internal changes to fully achieve the goals of our state,” the President of Ukraine said.
