For "treason".

In Hrodna, 21-year-old cadet of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Illia Naryshkin was tried for "treason". Viasna HRC reported.

The sentence was announced on August 14, but it became known only now. Illia Naryshkin was charged with Part 1 of Article 361-1 (Participation in an armed formation or armed conflict, military actions on the territory of a foreign state, recruitment or preparation of persons for such participation) and Part 2 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code (Treason).

The criminal case was considered behind closed doors. The judge found Illia Naryshkin guilty and sentenced him to 15 years in prison. He was also ordered to pay a 24,000 rubles fine.

Illia was born in Slonim, and spent part of his childhood in Hrodna. His father is Ukrainian, originally from Kryvyi Rih. Back in Soviet times, he graduated from an aviation school and worked as a mechanical engineer in different parts of the USSR. He and the accused's mother have not lived together for a long time.

After school, Illia Naryshkin entered the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He was a third-year student at the criminal-executive faculty.

“It is known that during his studies he lived an active life: he took part in competitions and participated in the intellectual game “Tower”. The latest public information about him dates back to March 2023. It is possible that 21-year-old Illia Naryshkin wanted to join the Belarusian volunteers in Ukraine. Recently, people who intended to go and fight on the side of Ukraine have most often been tried under the articles that were brought against him. Some of them corresponded with fake bots of the Kalinouski Regiment created by the special services,” Viasna reported.
