Ukrainian 'Palianytsia' Drone Missile Strikes Plant In Taganrog

New details of the strike became known.

On the night of December 11, a missile strike was launched at the Russian Taganrog, as a result of which a certain "industrial enterprise" suffered.

However, according to Defense Express, the target was the "Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex named after G. M. Beriev", where AWACS A-50 aircraft are produced.

At the same time, Russian media claim that the city was shelled by Ukrainian Palianytsia drone-missiles.

Russian publics write that the arrival was recorded at about 04:20 in the morning, and local residents heard about 10 explosions over the city. Later it became known that the enterprise was damaged, and 14 cars burned down in the parking lot.

At the moment, there is no official confirmation of the use of this type of weapon in Taganrog by the Ukrainian military leadership. Meanwhile, Ukrainian analysts suggested that Ukraine has the means for such operations, including kamikaze drones and Hell-type cruise missiles, which were recently transferred to the Armed Forces.

At the same time, the Russian channel SHOT spread information that according to preliminary data, the strike was allegedly inflicted by the Ukrainian Palianytsia missile. The brief technical characteristics of the weapon were also given — the flight range of the ammunition reaches 750 km, the speed is 900 km/h, and the warhead has a mass of 30-50 kg.

In this regard, it is worth noting that such data from the Russians differ from the characteristics of the missile, which were voiced by Ukrainian specialists.

Although most of the technical characteristics of the missile are classified, military expert Aleksiy Hetman in September suggested that the Palianytsia can cover a distance of up to 700 km, its speed is 500 km/h, and the mass of the warhead is within 100 kg.

Russian Propaganda Confused

At the same time, data on the weapons system that attacked the Taganrog plant also differ in the Russian information environment. Some Russian sources suggest that ATACMS ballistic missiles could have been used to attack Taganrog, but local authorities are talking about the use of drones.

Another well-known Russian channel Mash wrote that Ukrainian Peklo missiles hit Taganrog and Bryansk today. Moreover, it is claimed that the attack was combined with the use of other weapons systems. Russians complain that Ukraine is already mass-producing such missiles.

It should be noted that the attack with ATACMS missiles was also written by Russian military reporters, who allowed themselves to criticize the Kremlin about the next "red lines" in connection with the US permission to use American long-range weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, at the time of publication, the Ministry of Defense of Russia and the Kremlin have not yet confirmed or refuted the data on the use of Palianytsia and ATACMS missiles by Ukrainian forces in the Rostov region.
