New details of the attack on Grozny.
On the morning of December 15, Chechnya was attacked by drones for the second time in a week and the fourth time since the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
At least one of them hit its target - the explosion occurred at the base of the Second Special Regiment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after Akhmat Kadyrov, Ekho Kavkaza reports.
A video of a drone hitting the base of the special regiment was published by the Chechen opposition Telegram channel Niyso.
In it, a massive drone, outwardly similar to the Ukrainian-made E-300 Enterprise UAV, falls on the regiment's location against the background of machine-gun fire. The declared range of this model is 3,100 km.
The same building can be seen in the footage of the formation of fighters of the Kadyrov special regiment. It is in this building that the unit is officially stationed.
After the attack, Zamid Chalayev, the commander of the special regiment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after Akhmat Kadyrov, posted a video on his Instagram account in which he denies the fact of the strike. Later, he posted footage of the alleged downing of the drone that struck the regiment, accompanying it with the caption that “it’s at home” and “it’s not an option [to strike] at this regiment.” The video itself only contains a fragment of radio communications.
According to Niyso, there were at least five drones: according to unconfirmed information, they also struck a riot police base and another military base from which fighters are sent to fight in Ukraine. Shot also reports “several drones,” citing eyewitnesses.
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has not yet officially commented on the strikes on Grozny.
