Lithuania To Receive 44 Leopard Tanks From Germany

This is the largest military contract in the country's history.
During her first official visit to Berlin, Lithuanian Minister of National Defense Dovilė Šakalienė signed an agreement to purchase German Leopard-2 tanks. This was reported by the press service of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense, korrespondent.net reports.
According to Šakalienė, the agreement to purchase Leopard tanks is the largest contract in Lithuania's history.
“This is the most important milestone in the modernization of our armed forces and strengthening regional security. These tanks will open up opportunities for strengthening the defense capabilities and interaction of the Lithuanian and German armed forces,” she noted.
It is noted that 44 tanks will be delivered to Lithuania, which will equip the national infantry divisions being created.
