They were not “battle-hardened” troops.
The Pentagon said that North Korean troops in Russia could have lost “several hundred” soldiers killed and wounded.
This is reported by The Guardian.
North Korean forces have suffered “several hundred” casualties and dead fighting against Ukrainian troops in Russia’s Kursk region, where they had been sent to help Russia, a senior US military official says on condition of anonymity.
“These are not battle-hardened troops. They haven’t been in combat before,” the official said, adding that this was probably contributing to “why they have been suffering the casualties that they have at the hands of the Ukrainians”.
