The US Decides To Block Russia's Supply Of Missiles From North Korea

The Deputy Secretary of State has revealed the details.

The US will soon impose new sanctions against Russia and Russian energy resources.

This was announced by US Deputy Secretary of State Geoffrey Pyatt, according to the Voice of America.

Pyatt, who has been conducting negotiations in Europe and Asia for the past two weeks, is confident that the international community will continue to "tighten the noose" to deprive Russia of energy revenues.

"We will do everything possible to reduce Putin's energy revenues, with which he buys missiles from North Korea and Russian drones that destroy Ukrainian civilian infrastructure every day," Pyatt emphasized.

It was previously reported that the contract between Ukraine and Russia for gas transit expires on January 1, 2025. Europe has already taken steps to prepare for the transit shutdown. The share of Russian gas in Europe has dropped to 6%, and Russian gas flowing through Ukraine has dropped to 4%.

Austria and Slovakia are considered the most vulnerable, having purchased more than 90% of their gas from Russia last year. Due to concerns about Russian gas supplies, the Moldovan parliament voted on Friday, December 13, to declare a state of emergency in the energy sector, fearing the security of gas supplies to Transnistria, which is controlled by Russia.

Slovakia and Hungary are making efforts at the state level to ensure that Ukraine continues to transit Russian gas.

Some companies from Hungary, Slovakia, Austria and Italy have written to the European Commission complaining that the end of the agreement “will lead to higher prices for consumers in Europe” and “will complicate gas supplies.”

EU Energy Commissioner Dan Jørgensen said that the EU is preparing for a final halt to Russian energy supplies.
