On the night of December 20, a fire broke out in the isolation centre in Yakutsk, where the military servicemen who left the units unauthorisedly are kept, reports the regional operational headquarters with reference to the military commissariat.
Five people died, their identities are being established. Seven more were poisoned by smoke, they were hospitalised, RBC reports.
The causes of the fire have not yet been established.
The isolation centre is located in Vilyuyskiy lane. The Baza telegram channel wrote that the fire started on the ground floor, then the fire quickly spread through the building.
Two soldiers were injured in the fire in the military building.
In October, a fire occurred on the territory of a military unit in Shchelkovo near Moscow. The roof of the building caught fire, the cause was faulty wiring. No one was injured. A few months earlier, two servicemen were injured in a fire at a military unit on Cosmonautov Avenue in Yekaterinburg, where a chemical and radiation reconnaissance unit is based.
