A member of the Majlis has demanded that the Kremlin apologize and pay compensation.
A demand has been made to Russia in the Azerbaijani Parliament in connection with the crash of the Embraer 190 passenger plane of Azerbaijan Airlines, which was shot down by a missile from the Russian air defence system over Grozny.
Mejlis member Rasim Musabekov has demanded that Russia apologize and warned that otherwise relations between Baku and Moscow could move to another level, Turan reports.
The member of parliament confirmed the media reports that the plane was shot down by a Russian missile in the skies over Grozny.
He noted that certain actions are being taken in the media in Russia aimed at concealing the involvement of the Russian air defence system in the crash of the airliner.
According to the parliamentarian, the Russian side should apologize to Baku, pay compensation and bring the perpetrators to criminal responsibility.
He recalled: during the military actions in Karabakh in 2020, the Azerbaijani side apologized to the Russian Federation and paid compensation for the downing of a Russian helicopter.
The parliamentarian pointed out that the Russian Federation should have closed the airport in Grozny during the air defence operation and notified the airlines about it.
