The candidate of the ruling coalition assured that he will be the president for all Poles.

The mayor of the Polish capital Rafał Trzaskowski presented some elements of his presidential campaign at the congress of the Civic Coalition in Gliwice, Polish Radio reports.

The candidate of the ruling coalition assured that he will be the president for all Poles, not for one party. Outlining his vision of the presidency, Rafał Trzaskowski said that Poles need unity, peace, and solidarity.

“I believe in a Poland where an open hand defeats a clenched fist. I believe in a Poland that looks to the future. I believe in a Poland in which the strong will always help the weak,” said Rafał Trzaskowski.

According to him, the authorities in Poland “must strengthen democracy and make sure that all promises made before the elections on October 15 are fulfilled”. At the same time, he stated the need to speed up and implement the changes announced in Poland.

“From here, I would like to state that we need to prepare a whole package of laws that will be ready so that in the first hours, in the first days, when we win the presidential elections, we can make the changes that are most important to us. All this must be ready, because we need acceleration, we will show not only what we have been showing all the time, namely determination, but we will also demonstrate effectiveness. Because today is the most important thing,” said Rafał Trzaskowski.

In his speech, the presidential candidate stated that the final word on health issues should be left to women. Thus, he made it clear that one of the important points of his election program will be the issue of abortion.

Rafał Trzaskowski devoted a significant part of his speech to the energy transformation. Among other things, he stressed that this transition should be carried out at the expense of energy companies, and not just ordinary taxpayers.

Rafał Trzaskowski also pointed out the need to consolidate the nation, restore the competitiveness of the Polish economy, reduce interest rates and increase defense spending to 5% of GDP.
