Zelensky Awards Zaluzhny Hero Of Ukraine Title

On Friday, February 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny the title of Hero of Ukraine.

“For outstanding personal services in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decide to award the title Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of the Golden Star to Valeriy Fedorovich Zaluzhny, general,” the decree says.

On February 8, Zelensky, by his decree, dismissed Zaluzhny from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky was appointed in his place.
