Three air defence batteries, helicopters and more were eliminated.
The strikes on the Dzhankoi airbase in temporarily occupied Crimea were a joint operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the GUR (Ukrainian Defence Intelligence). After the attack, two waves of detonation followed, the exact consequences of the defeats with the upgraded weapons are being clarified.
It is previously known that three air defence systems, several helicopters, a munition warehouse and other "fat" targets were destroyed at the airfield. OBOZ.UA learned about this from its own sources.
According to sources, the attack on the airfield in Dzhankoy was inflicted by modernized Soviet weapons. This came as a surprise to the Russian occupiers, so the consequences and scale of the defeats, according to preliminary data, became significant.
Sources note that with a high probability as a result of the strike, three air defence systems located on the territory of the Dzhankoi airbase were destroyed. The invaders could also lose several helicopters, a fuel tank, an ammunition depot, two radar stations, one EW/REC station and a Bastion coastal missile launcher.
Recall that on the night of April 17, explosions were heard in Dzhankoy: local residents began to report that a powerful fire broke out in the area of the military airfield. Meanwhile, Russian propagandists began to write that "the grass is burning in the field."
As you know, the 39th Helicopter Regiment of the 27th Mixed Aviation Division of the 4th Air and Air Defenсe Command of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation, three aviation squadrons on Mi-8, Mi-35M, Mi-28, Ka-52 are deployed at the military air base near Dzhankoy. Also, helicopters of the border service of the FSB of the Russian Federation are deployed there.
