Poland Wants $130 Million Loan To Make European Iron Dome

Tusk will hold talks with the European Investment Bank on Monday.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Poland plans to receive a loan from the European Investment Bank for 0.5 billion zloty (about $130 million) for the construction of a satellite component of the "European Iron Dome".

Ukrinform reports this.

According to Tusk, the experience of Ukraine and Israel says that one country cannot independently guarantee the security of its airspace. Therefore, we are talking about an "Iron Dome" over the entire continent.

The Polish Prime Minister said that Warsaw has decided to build a satellite component as part of this program.

Tusk will hold talks with the European Investment Bank on Monday. He hopes that he will be able to inform about the successful completion of the loan application process.

Recall that at the end of March, the CEO of Europe's largest munitions manufacturer Rheinmetall said that EU leaders should consider installing short-range air defense systems like the Israeli Iron Dome.

In April, Tusk discussed this possibility during a meeting with his Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen.
