There are Belarusians among them.

Nine suspects in the preparation of acts of sabotage on the instructions of the Russian special services have been arrested in Poland. There are citizens of Ukraine, Belarus and Poland among them. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced this on TVN24 on Monday evening.

"As for acts of sabotage and subversion, this is a very serious matter. It concerns several European countries, including Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland. Signals are coming from Sweden, as it becomes clear that some of the strange incidents may also be the result of sabotage,” he said.

"We have now arrested nine suspects with charges, who were directly involved in acts of sabotage in Poland on the instructions of the Russian services. They relate to the attack, arson, arson attempt. We are talking about hired people. In part, these are people from the criminal underworld. This applies equally to citizens of Ukraine, Belarus and Poland," Tusk added.

He also said that one of the foiled sabotage attempts was the arson of a paint factory in Wroclaw, located near the chemical production. The Prime Minister noted that the sabotage was ordered by the Russian services, there is evidence of this. The head of the Polish government also recalled the recent fire at the IKEA warehouse in Lithuania.

"Persons who were detained there may also have a connection with attempts to sabotage, we are talking mainly about arson, also on the territory of Poland," he said, refusing to provide details.

He stressed that Poland has mutual understanding with its neighbors and allies in these matters. Tusk noted that he was now satisfied with the effectiveness of the Polish services.
