He is still in Belarus.
Polish services have identified and are searching for the killer of a Polish soldier guarding the border with Belarus. This was reported by RMF FM, citing its sources.
21-year-old Polish private of the 1st Warsaw Tank Brigade Mateusz Sitek received a fatal stab wound on May 28. He died on June 6.
According to journalists, it has been established that the attacker is from the Middle East. He is still in Belarus, but may be evacuated to Syria, according to Polish services.
Investigators identified the killer of the Polish soldier by analyzing recordings from the moment the attacks on the border began. This helped to determine what the attacker looked like.
For several weeks, Polish intelligence services interrogated migrants who had arrived in Poland. Informants from migrant groups currently living in Belarus were also used. Thanks to this, it was precisely established who this man was.
Earlier, the Polish authorities demanded that the Belarusian regime conduct an investigation and extradite the killer, but there was no public response. RMF FM journalists conclude that the murder took place with the consent of the Lukashenka regime. In this situation, action by the special services will be necessary.
It is possible that after the information about his identity is disclosed, the attacker will flee Belarus to Syria or another Middle Eastern country. Paradoxically, it may be easier for Polish services to capture him there and then hand him over to court, Polish journalists are sure.
