Who Made Lukashenka Fuss

A few conclusions.

For three days, during which the military operation of the Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region of Russia unfolded, the Belarusian authorities remained silent. There were no official statements. State media only broadcast the Russian officialdom. Aliaksandr Lukashenka was also silent. But after a long pause, he reacted loudly.

The Belarusian MFA showed unusual activity, which in one day condemned the raid of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region, protested to the Chargé d 'Affaires of Ukraine and even complained to the UN and the OSCE about Ukrainian drones.

All propaganda resources exploded. The Belarusian "MPs" began a race to comment on the actions of Ukraine.

What's actually going on? First of all, was there really a drone attack on Belarus from the territory of Ukraine? The Ukrainian side denies this. According to the monitoring group Belaruski Hayun, no drones were found from the territory of Ukraine these days, as there were no missile launches from the Su-30 fighter or the Mi-24 helicopter of the Armed Forces of Belarus.

Also, the Ukrainian Border Guard Service states that there are no additional Belarusian troops near the border yet.

The following consequences may be adduced:

First of all, there was some strong impetus that made the official Minsk noticeably fuss and actively demonstrate its support for the Russian ally. And such an impetus, obviously, was not reproaches from Russian Z-bloggers, to which Lukashenka still did not react too much. It can be assumed that this was some kind of strong signal from the highest Russian authorities. And the signal was one that could not be ignored.

The reaction of the official Minsk to this signal or push from Moscow turned out to be quite artificial. There didn't seem to be time to come up with something more realistic. It is worth paying attention to a certain confusion of the political leadership of Belarus. There was no traditional meeting of Lukashenka with the heads of law enforcement agencies.

On August 10, Lukashenka, during a conversation with residents of the village of Haradzishcha, Shklou district, said: "It is already restless at the border. So I must urgently be on the spot tomorrow and deal with these problems." But the next day, for some reason, he did not go to the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, as he announced, but visited the Yubileiny agro-industrial complex in the Orsha district.

It should be noted that the reaction of the official Minsk to the events is very demonstrative. There is a lot of noise, public actions designed to be welcomed in Moscow.

They say that we are moving additional troops to the Ukrainian border, drawing the attention of Ukrainian troops, thereby supporting the Russian ally. So don't blame us.

It can be assumed that everything will be limited to this. The probability of real participation of the Belarusian army in the Russian-Ukrainian war remains low.
