The Ukrainian army is advancing from the western side of the "cut-off" section of the Glushkovsky district.
Against the background of the destruction of two of the three bridges connecting the south of the Glushkovsky district with the Kursk region, the AFU began to advance in this area from the west, dialog.ua writes.
Russian media confirmed that by Sunday morning, Ukrainian forces had virtually destroyed the second of three bridges across the Seim River connecting the southern part of the Glushkovsky district with the rest of the Kursk region.
Judging by the photo, cars are still passing through the surviving part of the bridge. However, a hole of several meters appeared in the center of the bridge structure.
Military analyst Yan Matveev believes that the de facto bridge has already been destroyed since it is unlikely that heavy vehicles will be able to pass through it.
Russian military blogger Yuri Podolyaka also speaks about the fact that the bridge cannot be used. According to him, the supply of the Russian army has been transferred to pontoon crossings.
According to the Agency, at the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to advance in order to occupy the south of the Glushkovsky district, which will now be difficult for Russian forces to fully supply ammunition and food.
As a result, two of the three bridges connecting the southern part of the Glushkovsky district with the rest have already been destroyed on the Seim River.
In addition, a little to the east of the village of Glushkovo, the Russian army managed to build a pontoon crossing by Friday, wrote an OSINT analyst with the nickname Moklasen on X and deputy director of the Russian program of the Foundation for the Protection of Democracy John Hardy. The condition of the bridge is unknown.
At the same time, the Ukrainian army began moving across the border from the western side of the "cut-off" section of the Glushkovsky district.
According to the DeepState Ukrainian OSINT-project, there are already 16 square kilometers in the gray zone, including the village of Otruba.
However, the Rybar Telegram channel, close to the Ministry of Defence of Russia, wrote in a summary for Saturday that so far there is no confirmation that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have occupied the Otruby.
In addition, according to the blog, the shelling of Tetkino, located three km from the Otruby, also near the border, continues. In the main part of the combat zone in the Kursk region, there were no significant changes during the day, fighting is going on, air strikes are being carried out along the entire front line, according to data from the reports of the Ministry of Defence, Rybar, DeepState and data from NASA on fires.
The Ukrainian army is trying to expand the combat zone to the fourth district of the Kursk region – Glushkovsky. Destroying bridges in this area, the AFU cut off part of the area from the rest of Russian territory.
The AFU de facto repeats the maneuver like when they managed to return Kherson in 2022. If the maneuver is successful, the combat zone in the Kursk region will expand by 1.5 times.
