Powerful Drone Attack On Morozovsk Airfield In Russia’s Rostov Region

Drones struck a Russian military airfield in Morozovsk, Rostov region. There is a fire at the scene of the incident. Local residents say they heard explosions at the site of the fires.

According to the Russian Telegram channel Astra, eyewitnesses believe that an ammunition depot or fuel tanks are burning.

“Judging by the detonation, an ammunition depot or fuel tanks are burning, eyewitnesses assume. There has been no official information yet,” the report says.

Warehouses in two districts were damaged

According to a statement posted by Rostov region governor Vasily Golubev on Telegram, damage to warehouse facilities was recorded.

“As a result of a massive UAV attack, a number of warehouse facilities in the Kamensky and Morozovsky districts were damaged,” Golubev said.

Emergency services are putting out the fire.

As is known, the 559th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment is located at the Morozovsk airfield. Su-24 and Su-24M bombers are also stationed there. Since 2014, Su-34s have been based there as well.
