Ukrainian drones flew 1,800 kilometres.
Russian authorities say that drones have carried out an air raid on the Olenya military airfield in Murmansk region, Dialogue reports.
This is where the bombers, which regularly fire cruise missiles at Ukrainian territory, are based. The occupiers reported they allegedly ‘shot down’ two drones.
In Murmansk itself, the sounds of sirens can be heard and an air alert has been declared. The governor of the region has already confirmed the information about the air raid.
The Murmansk airport was also urgently halted due to the drone attack.
Military journalist Andrei Tsaplienko emphasises the huge distance: the military facility is 1,800 kilometres from the border with Ukraine.
Several Russian media outlets reported that one of the drones allegedly flew from the territory of neighbouring Norway.
Previously, the Russians stationed the bombers at the strategic aviation base in Engels, but after the Ukrainian strike, the aircraft were relocated to the north, where it is more difficult for Ukrainian drones to reach.
