Analysts have revealed details of the fighting in Kursk region.
Fighting in Kursk region continues, but so far without serious successes on both sides. The AFU are trying to carry out new attacks in Glushkovo district to the west of the current bulge in Kursk region.
Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) have outlined the situation on the battlefield over the past 24 hours.
The press service of the Russian Defence Ministry said that on September 17, Putin's army managed to repel the AFU attacks near Veseloye and Medvezhye.
At the same time, a number of Russian war correspondents say that Ukrainian forces want to encircle the Veseloye garrison, attacking from the western and eastern flanks. Fighting is also taking place in other parts of Kursk Region.
For example, the Z-page ‘Rybar’ reported that the Russian Armed Forces have advanced in Korenevo district. However, even it wrote that there is no visual confirmation of the Russian Defence Ministry's statements about taking control of Daryino and Uspenovka. Geolocation footage from September 16 showed fighting between the AFU and the RF Armed Forces west of Lyubimovka.
Some Ukrainian publics wrote that the AFU had encircled Putin's army in Kremyanoye, but analysts from ISW saw no visual confirmation.
Propagandists write that the battles in the area of Snagost and Obukhovka are conducted by occupants from the 155th brigade of marines of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the 51st paratrooper regiment. The 810th brigade of the Russian Armed Forces Marines, the Sarmat detachment and the ‘Wild Division of Donbas’ are fighting in the area of Borki.
