USA Allocates Ukraine New $375 Million Aid Package

The administration of US President Joe Biden announced additional defence aid for Ukraine. It includes the authorisation of a package worth $375 million.

This was reported by the White House.

A statement from the Biden administration indicates that the additional security assistance announced by the Pentagon today is designed to ‘ensure that Ukraine has the tools it needs to win the fight against Russian aggression.’

The White House explained that this includes ‘authorising a $375 million Presidential Decision Package (PDA)’ to provide Ukraine with additional capabilities ‘to meet its most urgent needs.’

These include air-to-ground weapons; ammunition for rocket systems and artillery; armoured vehicles and anti-tank weapons, the White House added.

The aid package includes:

air-to-ground munitions,

ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS),

155 mm and 105 mm artillery ammunition,

tube-launched, optically tracked, wire-guided missiles (TOW),

Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems,

M1117 Armoured Security Vehicles,

Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles,

light tactical vehicles,

armoured bridge systems,

small arms,

patrol boats,

blasting equipment and ammunition,

spare parts, support equipment, services, training, and transport.

The White House added that this is the 66th tranche of equipment from the Biden administration that ‘will be made available from Department of Defence stocks for Ukraine starting from August 2021’.
